Moscow Calling! This week we’ll be premiering the “Floating A/V Show” in 3D at the Circle of Light Festival in Russia.

It takes place at Сквер ЦДХ aka The Central House of Artists on Saturday the 29th of Setember: 29 сентября, суббота / 21:00 - Крымская наб., 10 - Вход свободный.

Circle of Light Festival is a festival for light installations, visuals & multimedia, and the promoter has promised 3D glasses for everyone, which I think will also look pretty interesting from our point of view!

STRØM is happening all over Copenhagen this week!

If I can get out of the studio, I’m hoping to catch acts like LV feat. Joshua Idehen, Emika, Ceephax Acid Crew, Kenton Slash Demon, Clouds, and a talk from Danish electronica’s grand old lady Else Marie Pade.

I’m playing a short solo set on Sunday the 26th, which is the last day of the festival.

It will be during the 4 Hour Festival at Den Røde Plads (v. Nørrebrohallen), Nørrebro, - an event that starts 10.30 and lasts untill 14.30, after which the giant Roller Disco will take over bizniz and end the festival in what they call an all-out-disco-boogie-love-roll-around-happy-family-frenzy.

I’m on from 13.25 and before me is none other than the great DNTEL (US) plus local acts Kiloton, Claus Poulsen, SØS Gunver Ryberg & Mikkel Meyer.

It’s full moon tonight and I’ve been invited by CINEMATEKET aka The Danish Film Institute to do a 3-hour dj set at 6 pm before the free outdoor screening of Duncan Jones “Moon” from 2009 and George Méliès silent classic from 1902 “Le Voyage Dans la Lune” - featuring the new soundtrack from Air.

The weather forecast promises no rain and around 19 degrees celsius!

Check out the new interactive website that the Hamburg based studio Futura Epsis1 just did for us. The website is HTML5 based and presents the visuals they did for the Rumpistol / Red Baron show this year.

The new album “Floating” is coming on Project: Mooncircle the 13th of April, 2012!

It features Red Baron on vocals.

Danish electronic artist Rumpistol, aka Jens B. Christiansen, releases his fourth and most ambitious album yet – Floating – a collaboration with LA based vocalist Red Baron that further explores the post dub-step vocal territories opened up on last year’s Talk To You EP. With tighter song structures, intimate lyrics and the Baron’s ecstatic vocal projections, the two create a parallel world in which the domestic breakdowns of wintry Copenhagen are filtered through surreal sun-bleached Californian dreams, resulting in a robotic and hypnagogic hybrid of soul.

The sound, while still recognizably “Rumpistol” in its organically unstable clicks and gurgles, marks an evolution in Christiansen’s thinking, shedding light on the interior landscapes of existential crisis and bliss that he’s been essaying over the last ten years.

The introduction of Red Baron does a great deal to carry this forward. Many of the tracks were written in partnership with the elusive vocalist on an almost subconscious level, through a process where different phrases were recorded until the atmosphere was properly expressed. It’s through the Baron’s heavily processed voice, hovering between male and female timbres, that the ghost of American pop culture finds itself here too. In this way Grace Jones stands tall in a frozen stream on I’m Not Listening, Lionel Richie gets stuck in traffic on a bad trip in Colors Breaking while Kanye pushes his auto-tuned bicycle through the blizzard of Floating.

But as the arctic arpeggiated synths let you know, the album is more about the future than any past, a future where Rumpistol and Red Baron dare to take current genres from the post dub-step and wonky scenes and defy them with the human voice for a dystopic soul music of their own.

Liquido celebrates 6 months/26 editions of his Secret Selector Selections with a huge crossover mix, using one track from each selection, including one from me.
With more or less unknown tracks from tons of different genres spanning over half a century, it’s a messy mix but nonetheless fun and amazingly coherent.

On the cover of… KOM_POST! + a 5 page interview inside DJBFA’s members’ magazine. DJBFA stands for The Danish Society for Jazz, Beat and Folk Composers - Denmark’s largest association of professional composers and songwriters. The headline of the interview is “Organic Instability” and it was done by Lotte Rømer (CV Jørgensen Band/Lotte Rømer Band).
